I'd like to see some photos of the internals, especially the wing tube area. These TopRC ARFs are nice but the glue used is awful, a very dry slurry of resin and microballons that is quite brittle. For an extra bit of cost to final price they could use a quality glue like hysol etc.

I am really interested in the airplane and does anybody have a weight specification on it? I have been searching and wondering if a Moki 180 would work and have enough power for aerobatic maneuvers. I know that energy management is important, but there is no replacement for displacement. Thanks.

Thanks for the link, There are some good specs, but just I am just looking for an estimated AUW to see if I can use this Moki 180 instead of going out and buying a 250 like listed on the DragonRC website. I have no doubt the 180 radial will fly it, but always nice to has some power to spare for aerobatic maneuvers.

Check with the folks at Gator RC. I believe Mike is in the process of setting up his TopRc T-28 that will be powered by a UMS 150/180 radial engine.

Hi David, thanks for the reply. I did check with Ashley and Mike at Gator RC and they are installing a UMS 210 Radial in their prototype. I believe a Moki 180 will fly it great and looking forward to getting one, once they become available.

Sure would be nice if they would have taken a bit more time and added some surface detailing to the molds. Looks like a really nice project, but it is pretty plain jane in the detail department for $3K-

Got mine almost 2 weeks ago, must be one of the first in captivity.
I haven’t made a start yet, just need to finish up a couple of other small jobs & should be onto it this week.
So far I like what I see.

Just noticed that one of the features listed for the TopRC T-28 sold by Gator RC is a sliding canopy. That's a nice touch. Curious to see if any weight will be needed to get this model balanced at the c/g.

it is not sliding as you are expecting, no rails, there are small locating lugs that the canopy can slide back a small distance on for removal. Very similar to the FW-190

Mine has a removable canopy as a hatch. As the full size canopy is 2 separate sliding pieces it would be a fair bit of work to get it sliding.

As for nose weight, unless you are fitting a radial, I’d pretty much guarantee it.
